Exporting a silk fabric that has 150 years-old history out of Japan

At TokudAw Inc., although the primary services we provide are customized travel experiences in Japan, one of the motivations in creating this company is because we want to share premium quality Japanese goods and genuine travel experiences with the world. There are so many unknown treasures of Japan that are not on social media, but only known to locals, and we have made it into our mission to share these with the international community.

Another vision of our company is that we want to be a trusted travel supplier contributing to sustainable tourism that creates jobs for the Japan communityprotects National World Heritages whilst promoting Japan as the ideal travel destination.

When we were selecting products to export aboard, we chanced upon this unique fabric called Samurai Silk, from Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. There is a rich 150 year old behind the silk industry in Japan, and samurai warriors were the ones who started this industry after the Meiji Revolution, thus the name Samurai Silk.

What is even more interesting is that, this is the only place left in Japan where all stages of silk production: breeding of silkworms, collection of silk, weaving, refining and printing; take place at the same location. This is really amazing because all around the world, people purchase fabric from one place and create the product at another. When everything is done at the same place, you can truly ensure that the final product created is of the highest quality.

In an industry where the history is so long and the skills to create this product has been honed to its finest, it will not come as a surprise to know that this product has been registered as a Japan Heritage.

What is the most special about this historically rich product is that, for the past 150 years, they have never been sold out of Japan. The collaboration with us, is their first step into the international scene.

100% Japanese Silk Properties

The 100% Japanese silk mask (samurai silk) comes in 4 different colors: azuki red, samurai blue, sakura pink and starry grey. Our 100% Japanese silk mask is soft and gentle on the skin, moisture retaining, UV absorbent and is also scientifically validated to have anti-microbial and anti-viral properties.

This mask would be perfect if you have sensitive skin and is suffering from abrasion from the disposable masks. If you have dry skin and also worried about having mask tan, this mask is also perfect for you! As silk has UV-cut properties, you need not worry about becoming dark around the mouth area. A skincare dermatologist once told me that when we apply sunscreen nowadays, we still have to apply all over our face because the UV rays can penetrate the commercial masks.

This would be a perfect opportunity to purchase this finely made product with decades of history behind its craft.

The samurai silk masks are going for 5,500 yen per piece which includes international shipping (with tracking) to your designated address.

100% Japanese silk mask promotion

Right now, we are running a promotion till the end of April where if you purchase 1 samurai silk mask, you will get a download link to enjoy our action-packed, original virtual tour: The Best 360 Samurai and Ninja Experience.
