The Best Educational and Therapeutic Summer Camp is a charity trip where 5kg of newly harvested organic rice from each tour participant would be donated to non-Japanese in economically difficult situations in Japan via official charitable organizations. Watch video here to find out more.

Organic sustainable rice farming methods
Enjoy a farm to table lunch with Japanese okasan (all produce used to make lunch would be from the farm you work on)
Learn how to come with your own science project and debate abour ideas
A borderless and interactive experience with the Japanese farmer, and have mutual exchange of cultures
Day 1
AM: Transfer to Tomi City via private chartered bus. Upon arrival, starting working in the rice field to learn about the basics of organic farming
noon-PM: Learn how to make your own onigiri/ gohei mochi with the local Japanese farmer using local organically sourced ingredients. Enjoy the rice balls you have made with home-made miso soup
PM: Sightseeing at Unnojuku
Evening: Check-in into Saito Hotel at Kakeyu Onsen, a national-certified onsen for its therapeutic effects since the Edo Period (2 camp participants per room)

LECTURE by Dr. Wanping Aw on
Good food healthy living with a focus on organic farming and Japanese fermented foods as well as hot spring therapy
Learn the basics of science research -- coming with up your own research topic and background research approaches, basic experimental design
BRAINSTORMING SESSION by camp participants to come with their own scientific research plan
PM
PRESENTATION (8-mins) and DISCUSSION by camp participants
CLOSING CEREMONY: Certificate of Participation and Charity Contribution would be awarded to the attendees
About Dr. Wanping Aw
Dr Aw has almost 10 years experience in teaching science research to high school students as part of community outreach. Many of her students have won numerous awards at domestic science competitions and managed to gain entry to top Japanese universities.
This camp is suitable for children between 14-18 years old.

Price Per camp attendee: 77, 000 yen (inclusive of tax) per person. A minimum of 8 attendees are required before we confirm camp commencement. We only accept 10 attendees per session.

Private chartered bus transport throughout trip. Pickup at 0730am at Shinjuku Station on Day 1 and drop-off at 6pm on Day 2
